God is the creator

  • God is the creator of the Universe.

  • God is still involved in the world today.

  • God has offered to be our Father!

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:1

By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

Hebrews 11:3

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

″And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

Matthew 6:25-31

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Ephesians 4:4-6

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

The Bible is the word of God

  • God has moved faithful people to write the Bible

  • The Bible contains God’s message of salvation for us

  • We learn about what God wants from us in the Bible

And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:19-21

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

Romans 1:16

He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

Jesus Christ is the son of God

  • Jesus is the son of God.

  • Jesus was born with a purpose: to reconnect us with God after our sin has separated us.

  • Jesus was killed by wicked men even though he had done nothing wrong and after three days in the grave, he rose from the dead!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:

″The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” - which means, “God with us.”

Matthew 1:21-23

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

John 17:20-23

The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.”

Luke 23:47

But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

Acts 2:24

We associate with Jesus’ death and resurrection through baptism

  • God asks us to believe in Him and all that he has promised.

  • Faith is the start of the process that unites us in a relationship with God .

  • Baptism is the complete immersion of water which is a symbolic death and resurrection likes Jesus’. It is an outward expression of an inward conversion.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;

2 Peter 1:5

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin

Romans 6:6

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Mark 16:16

We die as a result of our sin, but will be raised from the dead

  • Everybody sins and will die as a result.

  • When we die, we cease to exist.

  • One day, faithful believers will be raised from the dead.

…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

For the living know that they will die,

but the dead know nothing;

they have no further reward,

and even the memory of them is forgotten.

Ecclesiastes 9:5

If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:19-22

Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Our belief changes our lives

  • By following Jesus we try to live as he did, showing compassion, humility and love to all

  • God is with us always by the power of his Spirit

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

John 13:34

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God

Ephesians 5:1-2

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love

Ephesians 3:16-17

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?

1 Corinthians 3:16

Jesus will return to the earth to set up God’s Kingdom

  • Jesus ascended to heaven after he was raised and is currently in heaven at the right hand of God.

  • Jesus will return to the earth to set up a Kingdom filled with justice and peace.

  • Once established, the Kingdom of God will last forever.

God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

Acts 5:31

Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Acts 1:11

who alone does marvelous deeds.
